Say hello to the revamped Thunderbird shoes, exclusively designed for women. These brown beauties have been artfully redesigned by Lucie Skjefte, a Minneapolis-based Native American designer, mentor, and educator. As a citizen of the Red Lake Nation, Lucie infuses her Anishinaabe heritage into every beaded stitch. The name 'Animikii' of this collection, which means 'Thunderbird' in Ojibwemowin, is a tribute to her son. For each pair sold, Lucie receives a lifetime royalty for her original design. In addition, Minnetonka is making a donation to the Mni Sota Fund, an urban Native CDFI chosen by Lucie, to support Native Americans in Minnesota with homeownership and entrepreneurship. The shoes feature a suede or smooth leather upper, a hand-beaded Thunderbird design, a suede or leather lace, a padded insole, a heel cup, a rubber sole, a Minnetonka icon charm, and a signature stitch on the heel. They are imported for your convenience.

Using these Minnetonka shoes is as easy as slipping them on! They're perfect for daily wear, whether you're running errands or going out for a casual gathering. When it comes to maintenance, keep them away from excessive moisture. If they get dirty, gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. For more stubborn stains, use a mild leather cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they can damage the leather and the beading. Store them in a cool, dry place when not in use to keep them in great shape for a long time.
